Our Commitment to Safety
Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and while many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your family’s safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our infection control process is designed so that when your child receives care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We wanted to tell you about some of the additional infection control procedures we will be following to keep our patients and team members safe.
Infection control in our office is based on recommendations of the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We closely monitor the recommendations of these organizations so that we are up-to-date on any new guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to all recommendations.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff:
- Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
- We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
- You will see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines or toys since they are difficult to clean and disinfect. We encourage you to allow your child to bring a toy if it will make them feel more comfortable.
- We will be offering a “virtual waiting room.” When you arrive, please call or text our office (860-233-1589) to let us know you are here. If your room is ready, we will greet you at the door. If it is not ready, we will ask you wait in your car and we will contact you when the room is ready. We have allowed greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception and treatment areas at any one time.
- Please help us minimize the number of people in our treatment areas, if your child is comfortable going back by themself, we would appreciate it. If that’s not possible, we ask that only one adult accompany your child and that adult will be asked to wear a face mask.
- While we realize this may not be possible, children over the age of two are also encouraged to wear a face mask. We imagine many of them will even think this is pretty cool!
- Our team will be wearing additional protective equipment such as N95 masks, face shields, and hair coverings. All team members will be screened daily. Please assure your child that even though we may look different, it is still our smiling face underneath it all!
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 860-233-1589 or visit our website at www.cipespd.com.
Thank you entrusting us with your child’s care. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
