We are finally reopening to after having been closed for almost 11 weeks due the Corona virus epidemic and we are excited to see all of you again.  We’ve been busy during the last 11 weeks, making improvements both visible and behind the scenes so that that your child’s visit will be as safe and comfortable as possible.

We hope you like our team’s new ‘fashion forward’ personal protective equipment (PPE) that we’ll be wearing to keep everyone safe.  We’ll be wearing the very latest in scrubs, hair coverings, N95 masks, goggles, face shields and fluid resistant lab jackets. We haven’t decided whether we look more like minions or storm troopers.  We’ll have to let our patients decide.

Of course, there’s the procedural changes we introduced to you in our most recent blog, like taking your temperature when you arrive, asking you to wear a face mask and limiting the number of people who come to an appointment. We’ve ordered child friendly face masks for children over three to wear if they’re willing to do so.

We’ve been working hard to make as much as we can paperless and touchless once you get here.  Our patient registration forms, medical history updates and even the required pre-appointment Covid screening form are now available for you to fill out securely online through our website using DocuSign or our dental software.  Less paper and better for your health and the environment!

We’ve also made some facility changes to our office-some obvious and others hidden.  You’ll notice we’ve installed glass at our reception desk and are planning glass partitions in our open operatory.  These barriers will provide protection in addition to the required 6-foot distance between chairs.  Unfortunately, the glass company is behind in production right now so for a little while we’ll have to put up with temporary solutions that are not quite as attractive to say the least.

HVAC professionals have upgraded our heating and cooling systems, installed HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters and added UV germicidal irradiation to our HVAC system.  We have also added UVGI lights to our operatories for use between patients.

If you have any questions or concerns, we’re happy to answer them for you. We look forward to seeing you all soon!
