Drs. Cipes and Chisholm attended the 76th annual American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry meeting in Orlando. They joined over 6,500 participants from around the world to attend both clinical and scientific sessions.
The Scientific Program Committee organized a great lineup of speakers and topics; ranging from clinical care to materials to administrative tips. Dr. Cipes and Dr. Chisholm attended courses on building an inclusive practice, artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technology, and diagnosis and management of oral pathology.
While there we attended the College of Diplomates meeting where Dr. Cipes was recognized for her service as the Immediate Past President of the AAPD College of Diplomates (COD). The COD hosted an inspiring talk by Dr. Susan Fisher-Owens, of University of California, San Francisco, “An Update in Adolescent Medicine for Pediatric Dentistry.” Often times much of our continuing education focuses on the younger patients, so it was great to hear about what our teenage patients are going through.
We took advantage of our trip to Orlando and got to enjoy some of the local attractions. This year’s AAPD Welcome Reception was held at SeaWorld. Our group had the whole park to ourselves with access to all of the rides, exhibits, food, drinks, and even live music! Check out our office facebook page for photos of these events.
