CPD attends 78th annual AAPD meeting

Memorial Day weekend, Drs. Cipes, Chisholm and Beauvais attended the 78th annual American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry meeting in Denver, Colorado. They joined thousands of colleagues attending clinical and scientific sessions to enhance their knowledge of pediatric dentistry.
The Scientific Program Committee organized a great lineup of speakers and topics; ranging from pediatric clinical care to materials and administrative tips. The doctors attended excellent courses on caries prevention, and special healthcare needs. Drs. Cipes, Chisholm and Beauvais also attended the College of Diplomates meeting where Dr. Norman Tinanoff from the University of Maryland who lectured on the efficacy of fluoride. Fluoride has been a prevalent topic in the news. Dr. Tinanoff reinforced the importance of this naturally occurring substance and how in the correct amounts, it is our greatest tool in preventing tooth decay.
The Rocky Mountains were picturesque, and it was great to re-connect with friends and colleagues in Denver. We were able to reconnect with fellow UConn graduates at the UConn Alumni reception and recognize our Connecticut colleagues- Drs. Bina Katechia and Brianna Munoz who received national awards. A highlight of the meeting was the Western themed welcome reception hosted by the AAPD featuring Mark McGrath, Zac Barnett and Uncle Kracker. Check out our Facebook page for photos of these events!
