Children’s Dental Health Month
Every February our practice celebrates Children’s Dental Health Month with educational and charitable activities. This year was no exception. This year our tooth fairy’s helper visited the West Hartford Library and local nursery and elementary schools to raise awareness of children’s dental health. In her beautiful ball gown, wings and crown she was a sensation wherever she visited!
The American Dental Association (ADA) believes that “developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular dental visits helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.” Check out the ADA ‘s website www.mouthhealthy.org to find out about caring for children’s teeth starting in infancy.
This February our practice donated nearly $5,000 worth of free services by offering sealants at no charge to our patients lacking insurance coverage. We were happy to help the children in our practice with this important preventive procedure. To find out more about sealants check out what the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has to say… http://www.cdc.gov/oralhealth/publications/factsheets/sealants_faq.htm
