Yesterday, we celebrated a momentous occasion – our 2024 Employee of the Year! We threw a glamorous 1920s-themed murder mystery party to honor this year’s outstanding employee. With the help of our amazing committee—Dr. Cipes, Dr. Chisholm, and Jenn V.—we transformed our staff area into an art deco masterpiece that transported us straight to the Jazz Age.

A Night in the Roaring ’20s

From the moment we stepped into the venue, it was clear that the 1920s vibe was in full swing. Our art deco decorations set the stage, with sleek, geometric designs and opulent gold and black accents. No 1920s-inspired event would be complete without a menu to match. We served traditional dishes that echoed the flavors of the Jazz Age, including Chicken a la King, deviled eggs, egg rolls, and the crowd-pleasing pineapple upside-down cake and Hostess cupcakes..

Spotlight on Our Star Employee: Jo

The highlight of the event was honoring our 2024 Employee of the Year, Josephine—Jo, to those who know her best. Jo is the steadfast heart and soul of our office, just like her character Mercy Sober. She’s the kind of person who shows up—always. If you need a hand, a kind word, or someone to keep you on the straight and narrow, Josephine is your gal.

With a maturity that speaks to years of dedication and a meticulous eye for detail, Jo notices the small things that others might overlook and ensures everything is in its place. Her dependability is unmatched—if Jo says she’ll be there, you can bet your boots she’ll show up, no matter what. Thoughtful, hardworking, and patient, she has a heart as big as her sense of responsibility, always willing to lend a hand or offer advice.   Like a schoolteacher who knows how to guide without pushing, Jo is always eager to learn and ready to share her wisdom to help others grow. She’s never too busy to support someone in need—whether it’s a helping hand, a listening ear, or simply being a steady presence, reminding everyone that things will be all right.

Jo’s dedication and commitment to our team are truly remarkable, and we are beyond lucky to have her with us.

Lights, Camera, Action!

One of the most entertaining aspects of the event was watching everyone get into character. Our staff stepped into the roles of 1920s gangsters, sneaky bootleggers, glamorous flappers, and sharp-eyed detectives. The murder mystery plot had everyone guessing who the culprit (and ultimately the employee of the year) might be, but what made the event even more special was the sense of teamwork and the way everyone embraced their roles with flair. The laughter, mystery, and playful competition brought our team closer together and created memories we’ll cherish.

In the end, it wasn’t just the mystery that made the event so memorable; it was the collective spirit of our team and the recognition of our Employee of the Year, Jo, that truly made the day unforgettable. We can’t wait to see what next year’s celebration holds.
