Dental Assistants Recognition week
This week (March 2nd-8th ) is National Dental Assistants Recognition week. We appreciate all our dental assistants do for us and patients in our practice. On Tuesday to show our appreciation we had a special luncheon in their honor. For dessert we had homemade cookies made by one of our receptionists, Diane. Other team members brought in breakfast goodies to share.
Dental assistants play a key role in the dental practice. They perform a variety of duties from helping Drs. Cipes and Chisholm chairside, managing various aspects of the dental office and laboratory and educating our patients about oral hygiene. Our dental assistants help provide a nurturing environment for our patients and help provide them with quality dental care. Here is a little about our assistants:
Samira has been with the practice for 7 years. She graduated from AI Prince Tech Dental Assisting school and is a certified dental assistant. She moved to this country from Bosnia 12 years ago. Samira has a great sense of humor and keeps us smiling (according to Samira, she’s even funnier in Bosnian). She currently lives in Hartford with her husband and 2 young sons.
Hipolita began working at CPD 5 years ago after she completed her internship with us. She graduated from AI Prince Tech Dental Assisting school. Thanks to Hipolita, our Spanish speaking patients always feel at ease here. She and her husband have 5 children that keep them busy! She loves traveling, especially to her native Puerto Rico.
Dawn, a certified dental assistant, lives in Newington with her husband and 3 children, who range in age from 8 to 14 years old. That’s why she relates so well to patients of all ages. She graduated from Porter and Chester Dental Assisting school. Dawn came to us 3 years ago highly recommended by her teachers there.
Jenn A, a certified dental assistant, who has been with CPD for over 3 years also completed dental assistant training at Porter and Chester. Jenn currently lives in Wethersfield, but went to school in West Hartford. Always a good sport, Jenn makes a beautiful tooth fairy during Children’s Dental Health Month.
Many of our valuable team members started their career in dentistry as dental assistants- Donna, Diane, Astrid, Leigh and Jen D. To show our appreciation for the staff and students in the Dental Assisting program at AI Prince Tech we delivered a basket of tooth shaped cookies with best wishes for future success. Without such excellent programs we would not have found such well educated dental assistants.
