Drs. Cipes, Chisholm and 12 team members attended the 72nd annual American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry meeting in Chicago.   They joined over 6,500 participants from around the world to attend both clinical and scientific sessions.

While in Chicago, our team attended continuing education courses and we’re excited to incorporate some tips we learned into our practice.  Team members attended courses on a variety of topics including preventing decay in young patients, new trends in orthodontics, and atraumatic restorative techniques.    We also attended sessions on concussions, ADHD, and the dental management of children with bleeding disorders.

One of our team’s favorite activities was “Coffee Clutch:  Networking Rounds for the Office Staff.”   We got to spend the morning with our peers discussing common issues that arise in pediatric dental offices every day.   It was interesting to hear what other offices are doing, and to network with other pediatric dental teams.

We took advantage of our trip to Chicago to do a little team building.  When we arrived on Thursday, we had a special lunch at Beacon Tavern.   That evening we attended a live comedy performance at Second City.   Improv at its best!   This year’s AAPD Welcome Reception was at the Museum of Science and Industry.   The group had the whole museum to ourselves with access to all of the exhibits, food, drinks, and even live music!   Check out our office facebook page for photos of these events.
