WEST HARTFORD, Ct., February 1, 2011…Local employees Leigh McClelland, of Portland; and Patricia Adams, of Newington, have been named dual “Employees of the Year” at Cipes Pediatric Dentistry (CPD).  The award recognizes their excellence in many areas during 2010 but particularly for clinical and patient service.

About Leigh McClelland

McClelland, a 19-year employee, received the CPD Clinical Excellence award.   She is a dental hygienist. Co-workers say she is at her best with anxious patients and those with special needs.

“Leigh has a can-do attitude and really CAN DO anything,” said Elizabeth Chisholm, D.M.D., “including coming to the aid of her co-workers and patients when it counts the most.  We have always called her a lifesaver.  She lived up to her name recently when she pulled coworker Jen Dube out of the path of a speeding car, while on the office winter outing in NYC.   Leigh quietly goes the extra mile for everyone.”

About Patricia Adams

Adams received the CPD Excellence in Patient Service award.  She is a receptionist who has worked for CPD for eight years.

“Patricia is best known for her positive attitude,” said Monica Cipes, D.M.D., M.S.D..  “She comes to work smiling, leaves work smiling and everyone with whom she has contact can’t help but smile.  She makes all of our patients feel like family.”  Adams is also noted for being the practice’s “insurance guru.”
